A well-known Buddhist monastery and a prominent place of pilgrimage for Buddhists, the Red Maitreya Temple is situated in the Leh town of Choglamsar. The Maitreya Buddha, who is thought to be the future Buddha and the personification of loving-kindness, is the subject of the temple.
A huge figure of Maitreya Buddha made of clay and gold can be found at the temple, which is renowned for its spectacular construction. One of the largest Maitreya Buddha statues in Ladakh, the statue is 25 feet tall.
Inside the temple, there are also a number of tiny Buddha statues and Buddhist texts. A special spiritual experience is provided by the temple's calm, quiet atmosphere, which is surrounded by the Himalayan Mountains' breathtaking scenery.
रेड मैत्रेय मंदिर, लेह, लद्दाख एक प्रमुख बौद्ध मंदिर है जो लेह के राजधानी शहर से लगभग 6 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है। यह मंदिर 1970 में बनाया गया था और इसमें भगवान मैत्रेय की मूर्ति है जिसका उल्लेख भारतीय धर्म शास्त्रों में किया गया है। इस मंदिर का नाम भी मैत्रेय से लिया गया है।
मंदिर बहुत खूबसूरत है और उसके विचित्र रंगीन पत्थर भी अलग हैं। यह एक बड़े गुंबद और छत वाला मंदिर है। मंदिर के आस-पास के दृश्य भी बहुत खूबसूरत हैं जो इसके पर्यटकों के लिए एक आकर्षण हैं।
Visiting Timings:
The Red Maitreya Temple is open for visitors from 06:00 am to 07:00 pm, and there is no entry fee. Visitors are advised to dress modestly and maintain silence inside the temple premises.
मंदिर का दर्शन समय सुबह 6 बजे से शाम 6 बजे तक है। मंदिर हर सप्ताह के सातों दिनों खुला रहता है।
How to Reach:
To reach the temple, one can hire a taxi from Leh or take a local bus. The temple is located about 8 kilometers away from Leh and is easily accessible. The best time to visit the temple is during the months of May to September, when the weather is pleasant and the roads are clear.
